This course is a survey of the first five books of the Bible. The first five books of the Bible are critical to our understanding of Scripture—they introduce us to the character and nature of God and explain what He expects of His people.

Upon the successful completion of this course, the student should be able to:
• Define “Pentateuch” and explain the major themes expressed in each book.
• Chart out a general plotline for the books within the Pentateuch.
• Explain the concept of covenant against its broader historical context.
• Recognize the importance of the Pentateuch as the foundation for faith.
• Articulate some of the character traits of God as seen in Scripture, as well as explain what our relationship is to Him.
